Toronto (February 10, 2017) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that R. Bruce Reynolds, FCIArb., and Sharon C. Vogel have been selected as winners of the 2016 Donald P. Giffin, Sr. Construction Industry Achievement Award by the Toronto Construction Association.
This award is presented to individuals or organizations who have benefited the construction industry through major contributions to its progress and development. Those considered for the award are distinguished by the exemplary dedication and leadership they have shown in pursuing the construction industry's common goals and interests.
R. Bruce Reynolds, FCIArb., is the Chair of BLG's International Construction Projects group and Sharon C. Vogel is the National Leader of BLG's Construction group. They have acted as Counsel for the Ontario Government to conduct an independent expert review of Ontario's Construction Lien Act. The Report released by the Ministry of the Attorney General was produced following extensive research and consultation with over 60 stakeholders from across Ontario's construction industry. Mr. Reynolds and Ms. Vogel invited and received over 70 written submissions from industry groups and held extensive stakeholder consultations over the course of three months.
