This presentation will be primarily in French with speakers responding to questions in English as needed.
In this presentation, François Longpré and Rose Massicotte will discuss social media and its impact in the workplace. With social media an omnipresent feature of everyday life, employers are starting to face problems caused by the spontaneous and far-reaching broadcast of their employees' comments on these platforms. The speakers will discuss the risks posed to employers by their employees’ use of social media; the public and private nature of these platforms; employers’ access to their employees’ profiles; the ways and means employers have to regulate the use of social media; and, the appropriate disciplinary sanctions when an employee violates the terms of social media use.
