Join us for our second series of “nuts and bolts” webinars geared to Ontario public sector freedom of information and privacy practitioners. During these sessions, we will share our perspectives on FOI and privacy trends and developments that are crucial to the day-to-day work of legal counsel, registrars, clerks, FOI coordinators and others.?

Session 2: Demystifying the cloud contract for public sector institutions

Piece by piece, public sector institutions are restructuring their networks to rely heavily on systems hosted by third-party vendors. We all know that institutions can’t outsource the accountabilities they bear under MFIPPA and FIPPA, but how exactly should they be approaching the data governance provisions of a cloud or similar vendor contract?

We invite you to join technology contracts expert Eric Boehm and public sector information and privacy lawyer Geneviève Fauteux for a practical examination of cloud contracting issues. Eric and Geneviève will help you understand limited use clauses, incident notification clauses and clauses that limit liability (along with others) so you’ll know precisely where you stand the next time you negotiate.

The session will be hosted by Daniel Michaluk, BLG Partner.

Please watch your inbox for additional invitations for our next presentations in the fall.

QC: Please note, the concept of "recognition" or "accreditation" has been abolished. It is now up to individual lawyers to determine the eligibility of a training activity and to declare the hours in their “Dossier de formation en ligne”.
