Louise Arbour recognized for distinguished career

Toronto (May 4, 2022) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce that The Honourable Louise Arbour, C.C, G.O.Q., is the recipient of this year’s Toronto Lawyers Association (TLA) Award of Distinction.

Each year, the TLA Award of Distinction goes to a lawyer who makes extraordinary contributions to the integrity and worth of law and the legal profession.

A Senior Counsel at BLG, Madame Arbour was the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights; a former justice of the Supreme Court of Canada; and a former Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. Last year, she was appointed to lead an independent review into sexual misconduct in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Madame Arbour receives the TLA Award of Distinction at a gala on May 10.
