Maureen practises in the Commercial Litigation Group at BLG. As a member of the Financial Institutions Team at BLG, her practice focuses primarily on banking and securities litigation. She also has a broad commercial litigation practice, with significant experience in obtaining interim and interlocutory injunctions. Most recently, she has also gained experience in defending complex class action lawsuits.

Maureen has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, the Newfoundland & Labrador Trial Division and the Newfoundland & Labrador Court of Appeal. In addition, she regularly appears before several tribunals, including the OSC, the MFDA and IIROC.

Prior to joining the firm as an associate, she summered and articled in BLG's Toronto office.

  • Acts for financial institution in defense of a multi-jurisdictional class action.
  • Acts for financial institutions in defense of investor loss claims.
  • Acts for corporations and partnerships in oppression actions and other shareholder disputes.
  • Acts for registrants in defense of regulatory proceedings at the Ontario Securities Commission, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada.
