Dayeon’s practice focuses on construction disputes. She assists companies in the construction industry on issues such as contractor claims, construction defects and project delays.

She also assists clients in various proceedings before the Courts of Québec, as well as arbitrations and mediations.

Dayeon has previously worked in construction arbitration for an international law firm in Dubai, UAE. She has also clerked at the Superior Court of Québec and interned at the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board.

Experience

  • Represents the contractor in arbitration proceedings relating to major infrastructure projects in Montréal in a C$100M claim.
  • Representing investors to recognize and enforce arbitral awards against a State before the Québec courts.
  • Representing the contractor before the courts of Québec, various arbitrational panels and standing committees in a major transport infrastructure project in Québec.
  • Representing an aviation company in an ICC arbitration in a dispute arising from a partnership agreement with its suppliers. Performing contract review and legal research to assist the drafting or negotiation of various infrastructure projects.
  • Represented Groupe TNT (now part of Eurovia) in a multi-million dollar claim against the Ministry of Transport of Québec for additional work and delays relating to the construction of a highway.
