Mary Ann has more than 30 years of consulting experience across various industries, including professional and legal services. She works with clients to define and achieve transformational goals, and brings together stakeholders from various groups in an organization to creatively solve complex problems.

Mary Ann has extensive experience leading small and large transformation projects, including:

  • workshop facilitation;
  • process improvement and redesign;
  • operations enhancements;
  • organization design; and
  • technology deployments.

She is also a trained Design Thinking facilitator, and has expertise in workplace transformation and the future of work.

Prior to joining the firm Mary Ann was a management consultant, with clients across Canada and the U.S.

Experience

  • Led the creation of the vision, design and implementation roadmap of a hybrid-working model for a large higher education institution, including HR, technology and facilities considerations, to enable a successful mix of remote and on-campus work.
  • Led BLG’s Digital Transformation initiative – redesigning processes and deploying tools to enable a paperless workplace.
  • Conducted health check for Intellectual Property group of leading law firm – diagnosed issues, defined opportunities and supported implementation of recommendations – resulting in operational efficiencies, enhanced performance management and staff retention, and increased morale.
  • Managed finance transformation for a large Canadian law firm, including creation of a Centre of Expertise – nationalizing processes and centrally locating core functions for enhanced consistency, quality and efficiency.
  • Implemented workplace of the future for leading professional services firm, supporting the transition to paperless ways of working and an agile workplace.
  • Facilitated strategic planning offsite for the leadership team of a provincial ministry.
