The law lives and breathes. Keeping abreast of changes is an ongoing, important and exciting part of legal practice – and part of our commitment to professional excellence here at BLG. Further, mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is now part of the Canadian legal landscape.

BLG U provides a combination of live and videotaped on-demand sessions for our professionals and for clients of BLG.

Our BLG U website is the go-to destination for on-demand mandatory CPD programming offered free of charge to BLG clients. There are well over 100 programs available on BLG U, with several accredited for the purposes of the Ethics and Practice Management requirement in BC and the Professionalism requirement in Ontario. New programs are added regularly.

Important Reminder to Members of the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) - In April 2012, the LSUC announced amendments to the CPD rules to provide that viewing archived or recorded CPD programs without a colleague and participating in online courses that prompt responses throughout the learning process are now eligible activities for up to six CPD hours per year. With that change, and bearing in mind the six-hour limit, members of the LSUC can now view courses on BLG U alone and claim CPD hours. This significantly enhances the ability of BLG U to help LSUC members meet their annual CPD requirement.

Clients of the Firm can self-register for access to BLG U and existing users of BLG U can login here.

The combination of live and on-demand learning activities makes BLG U a unique offering in the Canadian legal marketplace. It is an example of our commitment to our core values of Professional Excellence and delivering the highest quality client service.
