Energy crisis in Europe, broken supply chains and disruption of commodity markets due to political tensions and stress - while certain businesses may benefit from spikes in pricing other may struggle with increased costs and inflation of energy and commodity prices. Obvious that governments may feel urged to act and respond to these challenges. Obvious also that sectors that may temporarily benefit attract scrutiny and may become subject to heavy taxation to share the pain others may feel for other reasons.
The panel session will address legislative approaches to tax windfall gains in the energy industry in selected jurisdictions on all continents and the challenges they pose to the energy industry.
