As an associate in the Competition/Antitrust and Foreign Investment Review group, Mohit advises clients across various industries on a range of legal issues. His expertise includes providing strategic guidance on compliance matters, pre-merger notifications, and inquiries under the Competition Act, as well as foreign investment issues under the Investment Canada Act.

Mohit also has experience in civil and regulatory litigation, including competition and securities class actions. He has advised numerous clients within the technology (including digital platforms) and media sectors on various regulatory matters. Additionally, he offers specialized advice to digital assets businesses, such as cryptocurrency exchanges, on matters before the Ontario Securities Commission.

Before joining BLG as an associate, Mohit gained valuable experience through a summer internship and articling with the firm. During law school, he completed internships at Canada's largest e-commerce company and held roles at Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada, as well as the University of Ottawa's Centre for Law, Technology and Society.

Fluent in Hindi, Mohit leverages his diverse background to provide comprehensive and tailored legal solutions to his clients.

  • Global Fuels acquisition of Greenergy's Canadian retail fuel business consisting of 241 retail gas and convenience locations, one of the largest in Canada. (oil & gas).
  • Pan American Silver Corp. in its US$4.8 billion acquisition with Agnico Eagle Mines Limited of Yamana Gold Inc. (mining).
  • Giampaolo Group in the formation of a US$700 million North American joint venture with Rio Tinto for the production and sale of marketable aluminum products with at least 33% recycled content (sustainability).
  • Netflix Inc. on the Canadian aspects of its acquisition of Animal Logic (entertainment/technology).
  • PSA International Pte Ltd. in its acquisition of Ceres Halifax from Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) (infrastructure/terminals).
  • Netflix, Inc. on the Canadian aspects of its global acquisition of Scanline VFX, Inc (entertainment/technology).
  • Numerous non-public advisory mandates in technology (including digital platforms), media and other sectors.
  • Samsung Electronics Corporation, Samsung Electronics America and Samsung Electronics Canada in Canadian class action proceedings related to the sale and supply of DRAM.
  • Korean Air in Canadian class action proceeding relating to air passenger surcharges.
  • A financial institution in defense of a regulatory proceeding by the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada
