Brett has a broad litigation practice that includes complex commercial and construction disputes, with experience in domestic and international arbitration and litigation matters. She has been involved in a number of construction disputes involving large infrastructure projects, as well as lien claims and claims under the Public Works Act. Brett also has experience representing oil and gas companies and Canadian corporations involved in contractual and shareholder disputes, disputes involving director and officer liability, securities and intellectual property claims, claims related to product liability and negligence, and labour, employment, and human rights matters. Brett has appeared before the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Court of King's Bench of Alberta, and the Provincial Court of Alberta.
Brett summered and articled at BLG. Prior to working at BLG, Brett completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at the University of Toronto, Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary, and has completed courses in mediation and arbitration through Osgoode Hall School of Law and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada.
