Carter is a summer student at BLG’s Toronto office for the 2025 summer term.
As a law student, Carter volunteers with Pro Bono Dalhousie, where he assists individuals from lower income households with form filling. Additionally, he was a junior editor for the Dalhousie Law Journal.
Following his first year of law school, Carter worked for a non-profit law firm in Halifax, specializing in prison law and social justice. Prior to law school, Carter worked for the Government of the Northwest Territories as a Senior Policy Officer for the Department of Health and Social Services and as Special Advisor to the Chief Public Health Officer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Carter was attracted to BLG by its reputation, diverse practice areas and well-developed mentorship and student program. Throughout the entire recruitment process, Carter felt well-supported and drawn to BLG every step of the way. His decision to work for BLG was reaffirmed by the experience of former students and the lawyers he met.
In his spare time, Carter enjoys canoeing, playing hockey and softball, checking out live music and trying out new recipes and restaurants.
