Leading International Trade Team Joins BLG

Members of the top-ranked team bolster specialty area at Canada’s largest firm

To further strengthen our team, we are delighted to welcome our newest partners Milos Barutciski, Jesse Goldman and Matthew Kronby from the Band 1 Chambers Global and Canada ranked trade law team.

Milos Barutciski — Milos Barutciski has helped define international trade practice in Canada throughout his 30+ year career advising Fortune 500 and leading Canadian and global companies in all aspects of international business regulation and compliance. He is widely recognized by clients and legal directories as a leading practitioner and applies his wealth of experience to assist clients in managing complex cross-border risks, disputes and negotiations.

Jesse Goldman — As the incoming Chair of the International Trade Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association ("IPBA") and Canadian delegate to the Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD China Task Force, Jesse Goldman is one of Canada’s most sought-after legal advisors for cross-Pacific trade and investment matters. Clients around the globe rely on him for his breadth of knowledge and exceptional strategic advice designed to maximize their commercial opportunities from international trade and investment. He is sought after as legal counsel in a wide range of international trade matters, ranging from disputes to planning and compliance. He has been counsel to commercial clients, trade associations, and sovereign governments in more than 130 trade remedy investigations.

Matthew Kronby — Matthew Kronby has been a key player in many of the highest-profile international free-trade developments in recent years. He was the Director General of the Government of Canada’s Trade Law Bureau and served as the Bureau manager and lead counsel for more than 15 years. He has led his clients’ legal teams in trade disputes relating to softwood lumber, aircraft subsidies, biotech products, automotive trade and other investment arbitration matters under NAFTA.
