COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Travelling across Canada together (virtually)

After the resounding success of last summer’s BLG Walks, we were at it again.

From Feb. 12 to March 15, 2021, BLGers in all five offices travelled (virtually) across Canada.

Our aim was to inspire each other to step away from our desks, get active, and reconnect in a different (albeit colder) way.

Vancouver partner Shelley-Mae Mitchell led this Cross Country Carnival.

We challenged our members to participate in a number of activities, including cross-country and downhill skiing, tobogganing, ice fishing, skating, walking, and much more.

BLGers got creative: some fabricated their version of dogsledding on a lake, while others went ice fishing with their families. Others formed teams and accomplished challenges together, including the “virtual snowball toss.”

Offices also went head-to-head in a regional race, submitting photos and videos as they saw who could complete the most winter activities the fastest.

BLGers showed their spirit by stepping outside during some of the coldest months of the year. We traveled our breathtaking country together and, in the end, crossed 12,017 kilometres.
