Sharlie specializes in real estate law and advises clients on a range of topics including acquisitions, sales, financing and developments.

She also has experience with:

Prior to joining BLG, Sharlie practised in the legal department of a global real estate leader and contributed to several major real estate transactions.

Experience

  • Played a key role in the acquisition of a portfolio of 30 multifamily residential properties in the United States in 2021 for US$3.6 billion and subsequent syndication of 50 per cent of that portfolio to two sovereign funds.
  • Facilitated the creation of a joint venture with a global institutional investor related to a class A office development in Austin, Texas in 2021.
  • Played an important role in the creation of a joint venture with a real estate institutional investor as well as the securing of a loan worth more than US$150 million in the United States in 2020.
  • Assisted a US$450 million industrial development project involving 11 class A properties in California in 2019.
