Julien focuses his practice on constitutional and administrative law litigation, complex commercial matters and appeal cases, including before the Supreme Court of Canada.
He regularly advises and represents clients with respect to constitutional matters involving the division of powers and fundamental rights and freedoms. His public law practice also extends to various regulatory matters, including with respect to the environment, transportation, official languages, access to information and disciplinary law.
Prior to joining BLG, Julien served in 2018-2019 as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada to the Honourable Madam Justice Suzanne Côté. Before studying law, Julien worked as a journalist and researcher for various regional and national media outlets (print, radio and television).

- 6362222 Canada inc. v. Prelco inc., 2021 SCC 39: Represented the appellant in a commercial dispute involving the validity of a non-liability clause in Québec civil law
- Reference re Code of Civil Procedure (Que.), art. 35, 2021 SCC 27: Represented an appellant in a reference regarding the constitutional validity of the Québec Court's jurisdiction
- Montréal (City) v. Deloitte Restructuring Inc.,2021 SCC 53: Represented an intervener in a dispute involving the interaction between a voluntary reimbursement program for alleged fraudulent tactics and proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act
