In recent years, the Assemblée nationale du Québec and the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) have been very active in proposing and implementing novel laws and regulations, as well as breaking new ground on policy changes that affect participants across Canada in the financial services industry, while also (in the case of the AMF) keeping step with the securities regulators in the rest of Canada.
Our first Investment Management Group webinar for 2023 will provide you with information on the status of the various developments, as well as help you understand what might be coming next and their implications to your business.
Our panel of specialized lawyers based in our Montréal office will cover the following topics, all of which have a unique Québec flavour and focus: privacy law developments, French language charter proposals, unclaimed property, complaint handling, corporate transparency requirements and the regulation of mutual fund dealers and representatives based in Québec.
We hope you can join us!

QC | Please note, the concept of "recognition" or "accreditation" has been abolished. By doing this, the Barreau is trying to make it easier for lawyers to claim mandatory CLE credits without a formal accreditation process. It is now up to individual lawyers to determine the eligibility of a training activity and to declare the hours in their “Dossier de formation en ligne”.
