Artificial intelligence (AI) has and continues to transform the legal landscape, and the rapid advance of these technologies creates a need to understand how our existing legal frameworks may need to adapt to this fundamentally disruptive technology.

In this two-part series, join AI experts and legal practitioners from across sectors as we discuss current and future uses of AI in the law and legal practice, and the ethical considerations surrounding these emerging technologies.

Part 1: How AI and the Law Intersect | May 16

Sinead Bovell, United Nations speaker and multi-award-winning AI Ethicist, along with BLG’s Partner Edona Vila will discuss AI powered tools from e-discovery to chat GPT and how legal professionals can make use of them to increase productivity and efficiency. The speakers will also address key ethical and regulatory considerations, including bias, procedural fairness and due process, and security of information when it comes to adopting these rapidly changing tools.

Please respond by May 15 for Session 1.

QC | Please note, the concept of "recognition" or "accreditation" has been abolished. By doing this, the Barreau is trying to make it easier for lawyers to claim mandatory CLE credits without a formal accreditation process. It is now up to individual lawyers to determine the eligibility of a training activity and to declare the hours in their “Dossier de formation en ligne”.
