Supreme Court Will Not Hear Insider Trading Case
The Supreme Court of Canada has denied leave to appeal the Ontario Court of Appeal's decision in Finkelstein v. Ontario Securities Commission. The Court of Appeal's decision interpreted and clarified the application of the insider trading and tipping scheme in the Ontario Securities Act, and is also notable for its discussion on the standard of review of a decision of the securities commission.
