Sabrina maintains a general litigation practice, with a focus on commercial and construction disputes. She advises and acts for clients in a wide range of matters, including construction and engineering disputes, commercial arbitration, securities disputes, and white collar criminal defence.

Sabrina has appeared before the Court of Appeal of Alberta, Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, and the Alberta Court of Justice. She also has experience representing clients in arbitration proceedings.

During law school, Sabrina participated in the Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot and the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.

Sabrina completed articles of clerkship at the Alberta Court of Justice and concluded her articling term at BLG before returning as an associate.

Experience

  • Acting for respondent in successfully defending against appeal of decision declining to find client in civil contempt: Simpson v Pawlowski2024 ABCA 254.
  • Acting for Alberta Health Services in successfully opposing injunction application brought in relation to RFP for delivery of waste management services: Daniels Health v Alberta Health Services2024 ABKB 282.
  • Acting for an international engineering firm in ADRIC arbitration arising out of a progressive design-build project for runway redevelopment at an international airport.
  • Advising a defence contractor on cross-border regulatory issues arising in relation to an acquisition valued +$1billion, in conjunction with U.S. counsel.
  • Acting for a public Canadian pharmaceutical company to obtain a worldwide injunction against activist shareholders in the US, Cayman Islands, and Europe, in conjunction with US counsel. Injunction granted in March 2024 by Alberta Court of King's Bench.
  • Advising counsel abroad on the law in Canada in relation to Article 34 of the UNCITRAL Model Law for an appeal of an international arbitral award.
  • Acting for a general contractor in ad hoc arbitration pertaining to a residential construction project. Obtained a successful award for respondent client.
