Meghan acts as counsel to health care institutions—including hospitals and health care clinics—and their employees in defending personal injury, medical malpractice and occupiers’ liability claims.

Meghan also has a mental health law practice. She regularly represents psychiatric hospitals and health care institutions before the Ontario Review Board and the Consent and Capacity Board.

She was a summer and articling student at BLG before joining as an associate in 2012.

Experience

  • Advise healthcare institutions on compliance with healthcare legislation and proposed institutional policies.
  • Represent forensic mental health facilities before the Ontario Review Board.
  • Represent hospitals on a variety of medical malpractice actions, including obstetrical, surgical and missed/delayed diagnosis.
  • Represent various hospital clients before the Consent and Capacity Board.
  • Represent nursing staff in relation to College of Nurses complaints.
