Maya will be attending the Professional Legal Training Course this fall and will commence her articles at the firm in November. Maya summered with BLG Vancouver in 2022 and assisted lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
Maya studied Psychology, French and Philosophy at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
Maya chose to work at BLG because of BLG’s collegial and welcoming environment. Maya is a former Varsity soccer player which is why she appreciates BLG’s culture of teamwork and collaboration.
Prior to joining BLG, Maya worked as a Summer Associate at Miller Canfield Paddock & Stone in Detroit, Michigan USA.
Maya is the co-creator of “Know Your Rights Day” a community outreach initiative that teaches inner city Detroit High school students about best practices when dealing with law enforcement and the importance of one’s 4th amendment rights.
In her spare time, Maya enjoys running, hiking, and trying out Vancouver’s best sushi restaurants.
