On June 23, 2023, recent amendments to the Competition Act, which prohibit wage-fixing and no poaching agreements between employers, take effect. As of this date, it will be a criminal offence for two or more employers to agree to fix wages/salaries or terms and conditions of employment, or to agree not to poach each other’s employees. As June 23, 2023 is fast approaching, it is imperative for employers to understand how these new prohibitions may impact their business, and to ensure that representatives of the business do not engage in any conduct which could give rise to the appearance of violating them.

Join us on April 26, 2023 for an informative session in which we will review the key elements of the prohibitions on wage-fixing and no poaching agreements and what they mean for your business. We will also discuss restrictive covenants in the employment context, including the essential aspects of an enforceable non-solicit or non-competition clause.

Speakers | Alyssa Jagt, Denes Rothschild, and Mitchell Smith
