Jane provides support to lawyers in our Maritime Group by drafting proceedings, by reviewing, analyzing and organizing claim-related documents, and by conducting research on specific topics.

With our lawyers specialized in workers’ compensation within our Labour and Employment Group, she is also involved in the management of Canadian crew injury claims for a number of members of SCALA, a captive for Canadian shipowners managed by Charles Taylor Consulting. In addition, Jane’s expertise in workers’ compensation claims has expanded to other industries.

Jane also provides support to clients from diverse industries with their application to obtain authorization from the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) to enter into public contracts in Québec.


Jane previously worked for a major Canadian shipowner for over 15 years. As an insurance and claims specialist, she has worked closely with brokers, underwriters, P&I correspondents, average adjusters, surveyors, experts and vessel managers in the management of marine and non-marine insurance and claims for the company's business units in Canada and around the world.

Jane has handled, among others, vessel, cargo, personal injury and pollution claims from inception to settlement and was involved in the planning and implementation of loss prevention initiatives.


Jane is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and has a basic knowledge of Italian and Cantonese.
