As a Summer Law Student, Nimrit is assisting lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
Prior to law school, Nimrit received a Bachelor of Arts Honours (First Class with Distinction) in English, Gender Studies, and Criminology. Following her undergraduate studies, she earned her Master of Arts in Socio-Legal Studies. During her first year of law school, Nimrit volunteered with the Student Legal Services of Edmonton’s Human Rights and Criminal Law projects, advising and representing clients, drafting complaints, and completing name and gender marker change applications. At the University of Alberta, she serves as Co-Chair of the Women’s Law Forum Sexual Assault Awareness Committee, Co-President of the Law Students for Human Rights, and as an executive member of the Student Articling Committee.
Nimrit was drawn to BLG for its strong commitment to student development through mentorship opportunities and experiential training across diverse practice areas. She values BLG’s dedication to building an environment where learning and professional growth are prioritized and believes this is a reflection of the firm’s collaborative and innovative approach. Inspired by the high standard of excellence that BLG upholds, Nimrit appreciates that this commitment extends to both the quality of student work, as well as the support they receive from leaders in the field. At BLG, Nimrit saw herself as a valued member of a team dedicated to building an inclusive and impactful legal community—one that empowers students to find their place within the profession as future lawyers.
Outside of school and work, Nimrit enjoys playing field hockey, gardening, and travelling.
