As a Summer Law Student, Sean is assisting lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
Prior to attending law school, Sean graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with First Class Standing from the University of Alberta. He worked for several large engineering firms and the Canadian Department of National Defence, gaining experience in explosives engineering, oil and gas engineering, risk management, prosthetics and assistive technology, and municipal engineering.
Sean also worked at the Blood Tribe Homeless Shelter, where he gained insight into clients' challenges by attentively listening to their stories and applying emotional intelligence and communication skills to navigate clients’ emotions and de-escalate conflict.
During his first year of law school, Sean participated in the Student Legal Aid Clinic, where he advocated for clients before the Provincial Court of Alberta.
He further developed his oral advocacy skills by competing in the BLG Moot and the McGillivray Moot.
Sean was drawn to BLG because of its people. The firm's exceptional leadership, commitment to legal excellence, collegial work environment, dynamic culture, and emphasis on personal development reinforced his decision to join the BLG team. The position aligns closely with Sean’s skill set, professional goals, and core values.
In his spare time, Sean can be found in the Rockies with his three brothers—skiing, fishing, hiking, or hunting. He also enjoys reading historical fiction, rowing, playing intramural sports, and raising tropical fish.
