Aleah is a student in BLG’s Ottawa office for the 2022 summer term. Her focus is on disputes and corporate law.
Aleah volunteers as a student mentor for first year U of Ottawa law students. She also serves as the vice president for the Ottawa navigating Ottawa resources to improve health (NORTH) clinic where she trains student members prior to their client interactions.
In law school, Aleah worked as a research assistant for distinguished professor, Constance Backhouse, and supported her research in racial bias.
Prior to joining BLG, Aleah worked as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency Department and other specialized acute care settings. She continues to provide health related research for academics and other professionals across Canada.
Aleah chose to join BLG because of the firm’s emphasis on a collegial and supportive learning environment. The summer program focuses on more than legal education. It offers mentorship and professional development while providing students with the opportunity to explore areas of personal interest.
In her spare time, Aleah is active and enjoys biking, playing intermural sports with friends, and looking after her plants.
