A Summer student in BLG’s Toronto Office for the 2025 term. She is focusing on business law.
Prior to joining BLG, Nusirat worked as an In-house Counsel at one of Nigeria’s largest financial institutions with subsidiaries across Africa in funds management, pensions, asset management and payments. In this role, she was responsible for proving comprehensive legal advice on a range of corporate commercial transactions with particular emphasis on finance transactions. Her responsibilities also included ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, handling company secretarial duties and supporting strategic business initiatives across the institution’s various operations.
Nusirat chose to work at BLG because of the firm’s collegial and supportive culture. After meeting with several members of the firm, she was impressed with how everyone she interacted with showed genuine interest in her professional journey and always offering a helping hand when possible. These interactions convinced her that BLG is not only a firm that offers exciting opportunities and immense professional growth but also a place to make meaningful connections and form a strong sense of community for the long term.
In her spare time, Nusirat enjoys a variety of activities, particularly those related to fragrances and baking.
