Race and Mental Health in the Legal Profession

Impacts on mental health and workplace culture, discussion on solutions

Hosted in partnership between the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers – Western Chapter (FACL Western) and the CBA Alberta Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, and sponsored by BLG, speakers Anne-Marie Pham of the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) and Tiana Field-Ridley of the Mental Health Commission of Canada will provide an informative, educational and engaging seminar on Race and Mental Health in the Legal Profession.

The two-hour educational portion will begin with a session about racial microaggressions (what they are, impacts on mental health and workplace culture, and a discussion on solutions) and then will cover strategies to support oneself and support others who are facing mental health issues and are at the intersections of race and mental health. The educational session will be followed by an interactive discussion engaging the audience about racial microaggressions and mental health. The session will be followed by a one hour networking reception.

We look forward to having you join us.

Please RSVP by June 15, 2022.
