BLG is committed to supporting you with your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs. We are pleased to offer ongoing virtual sessions through the year to help you fulfill your 12 hours of required CPD.

In this session we will have Hunter Parsons presenting on the availability and use of large language models by lawyers and the range of novel ethical issues they have created. He will review the initial response from provincial law societies and superior courts to regulate the use of LLMs in the practice of law and in the courtroom, and identify some of the way that lawyers have run afoul of their ethical obligations through their use of material generated by LLMs.

Following Hunter, we will have Ingrid Vanderslice and Frédéric Wilson presenting on Canadian Privacy and Data Sovereignty in an Evolving World. In this session, they will be exploring the impacts of current geopolitics and tech developments on Canadian privacy, data protection, and data sovereignty, and what Canadian organizations should be thinking about when it comes to data outsourcing.

Please respond by June 10. We hope you can join us!
