Three BLG lawyers appointed Queen's Counsel

Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) is delighted that three of our Calgary-based partners have been designated Queen’s Counsel in 2022. Congratulations to:

Queen’s Counsel is selected by high-ranking representatives from a province’s bar association, law society and various courts, who review nominations before narrowing their recommendations to a few outstanding individuals. By the time the Lieutenant Governor is set to select the province’s appointees, the short list for this prestigious recognition includes some of the most noteworthy leaders within the legal industry. In Alberta, this process is conducted every second year.

Through their significant accomplishments and exemplary leadership within the legal profession, but also their long-standing community engagement, Michael Marion, Patricia (Trish) Morrison and Patrick Heinsen embody the professional qualities, commitment to excellence and community focus worthy of a Queen’s Counsel distinction.

The Alberta Minister of Justice and Solicitor General released this year’s list of Queen’s Counsel appointees in early April.
