BLG expands its environmental group with new counsel Diana Weir

Toronto (July 4, 2024) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to welcome Diana Weir as Counsel in the Environmental Group in Toronto.

Diana brings a wealth of knowledge in environmental law, offering legal and strategic advice on environmental matters related to Ontario, federal and municipal legislation. Her experience includes advising clients on environmental regulatory compliance, environmental assessments, contaminated sites, and the environmental aspects of transactions.

A seasoned litigator, Diana has a proven track record in defending clients against environmental and regulatory offences and handling appeals of remediation orders before the Ontario Land Tribunal. She also represents clients in contaminated land actions and other environmental litigation matters.

In addition to her legal work, she serves on various boards and committees, including her role as Vice Chair of the Environmental Law Section Executive Committee of the Ontario Bar Association and as a member of the Steering Committee of The Cambridge Forum on Environmental Law.

Diana is also a recognized speaker at various legal conferences and seminars on topics such as climate change planning, environmental due diligence, and best practices for preserving legal privilege in corporate transactions.
