Toronto (May 5, 2025) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) welcomes Emily O’Donohue as Counsel in our Corporate & Capital Markets Group in Toronto.
Emily is recognized as a leader in the derivatives industry. She has significant expertise advising on derivatives instruments, credit support arrangements, repurchase and reverse repurchase arrangements and other sophisticated financial instruments for pensions, asset managers and other institutional investors. She regularly advises on and negotiates International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) protocols, master agreements and related documentation, advises on derivative regulatory compliance issues, and assists with the development of new derivatives-based structures.
Emily has an established reputation in the derivatives industry, with extensive experience speaking at ISDA symposiums, OSC conferences and other industry events. Prior to joining BLG, Emily acted as lead derivatives counsel at a large pension plan in Ontario for over a decade, providing advice on a wide range of capital markets and derivatives issues. Emily has also practiced law at an international firm, where she was Co-Chair of the Derivatives Group.
