Montréal (September 2, 2025) – Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is thrilled to welcome established litigator Adina Georgescu as Partner in our Environmental, Municipal, Expropriation and Regulatory (EMER) Group.
A highly respected figure in the legal community, Adina is known for her sophisticated litigation practice and deep sector knowledge in environmental and municipal law, expropriation, property taxation, and energy regulation.
With nearly 20 years of experience, Adina has built a reputation as a trusted advisor and go-to litigator for clients navigating the legal complexities of land use planning, infrastructure development, and regulatory compliance. She regularly leads high-profile, precedent-setting litigation files involving expropriation, property tax, and energy matters — cases that shape jurisprudence and influence public policy.
Her clients span the commercial, industrial, and renewable energy sectors, and she is routinely called upon to guide developers, landowners, and corporations in their dealings with public authorities on matters such as environmental compliance, permitting, zoning, energy rate approvals, and property assessments.
“Joining BLG feels like the perfect next step in my professional journey,” says Adina. “I’m excited to become part of such a respected and reputable firm, surrounded by a team of driven, collaborative, and deeply knowledgeable lawyers. This is a community known for its excellence, and I look forward to growing my practice alongside exceptional colleagues who share a passion for complex, meaningful work.”
Beyond her legal practice, Adina is committed to advancing the profession and industry. Amongst other engagements, she serves as President of the Canadian Property Tax Association and Chair of the Legal Committee of the Urban Development Institute of Québec. She has also contributed to legal education, teaching administrative law at the University of Montréal’s Faculty of Law and Faculty of Continuing Education.
“Adina is a gifted litigator with extensive, on-the-ground experience in navigating environmental challenges in large-scale projects,” says Graham Walker, National Group Head, Specialized Disputes. “Her superior ability to guide a wide range of stakeholders through fast-evolving requirements in land use planning and commercial real estate will be invaluable to our clients.”
Across Canada, BLG’s EMER Group offers the multidisciplinary know-how clients need to navigate today’s — and tomorrow’s — issues in land development, compliance targets, and the drive toward net-zero.
