In Q3 2026, the BLG Foundation supported 14 charitable organizations across Canada, each nominated by a firm member who actively volunteers or serves on a board. The Foundation also contributed to two firm-led volunteer initiatives and made a special contribution to Canadian Red Cross wildfire relief efforts. This dual approach reflects how the Foundation was designed to work: putting decision-making in the hands of our people and responding with compassion when communities need it most.
This round of giving reflects the remarkable breadth of what our people care about. From performing arts and youth development to hospice care, animal rescue and adaptive sports, the organizations supported this quarter speak to the diversity of our firm and the depth of commitment firm members bring to their communities.
This quarter also holds special meaning. The Foundation donated to the Fondation des Sports Adaptés / Adaptive Sports Foundation in memory of the late BLG partner Alex K. Paterson, a cherished member of our firm community whose legacy continues to inspire.
As with every round of giving, the BLG Foundation's approach remains rooted in a core belief: the most meaningful community investments happen when our people lead the way.

Firm volunteer initiatives
In addition to its nominated charitable giving, the Foundation contributed to two firm-led volunteer initiatives this quarter: BLG Ottawa Gives Back and BLG Vancouver Gives Back. Both initiatives brought together colleagues from across the firm to serve their local communities.
Emergency response: Supporting wildfire relief
In July 2026, the BLG Foundation made a special donation to the Canadian Red Cross in support of wildfire relief efforts across Canada.
This contribution sits outside the Foundation's standard nominations process. It reflects the Foundation board's commitment to responding when communities face urgent need and standing alongside Canadians at difficult moments.

Launched in December 2025, the BLG Foundation reflects BLG's commitment to investing in the communities where our people live and work. Giving decisions are driven by firm members: each quarter, BLG lawyers, associates and business services professionals nominate charitable organizations where they are personally involved as volunteers or board members. The Foundation then directs funding to support those organizations.
