As leader of BLG’s national Infrastructure Projects and Construction focus group, Gabriel Lefebvre provides legal guidance regarding some of the most complex work sites in the country. Whether in structuring large-scale projects or handling contractor claims, he promotes strategic dispute resolution through preventive and collaborative methods.
He brings this approach to all the major mandates in which he plays a key role. He has contributed on behalf of the firm to projects like the renovation of the Laviolette Bridge, the modernization of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, and the rollout of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM). These achievements demonstrate his ability to assist clients facing the most challenging legal issues in the industry.
Gabriel’s position as a leader is confirmed by his peers – he was recently named Fellow of the Canadian College of Construction Lawyers, recognized as a “Litigation Star” in construction by Benchmark Litigation Canada, and featured in the prestigious Lexpert Special Edition on Canada’s Leading Infrastructure Lawyers.
He advises property owners, contractors, and surety companies throughout their entire project lifecycle, including on issues related to engineers’ professional liability. He provides clients with strategic insights on matters including:

As an experienced litigator, Gabriel assists in preparing complex cases and appears before all levels of court in Québec, consistently prioritizing solutions that help avoid legal escalation. He also acted as the regional leader of our Disputes – Commercial and Construction Group in Montréal for five years.
