Merritt’s practice spans across both private and public markets. He advises clients in corporate matters ranging from mergers and acquisitions, financing needs, and disclosure compliance.
Prior to becoming an associate, Merritt was both a summer and an articled student at BLG’s Vancouver office.
Prior to joining BLG, Merritt studied business administration at Ivey Business School at Western University, where he was also a member of the Men’s Varsity Rugby Team. Upon graduation, Merritt gained experience in Toronto working for both RBC Investor & Treasury Services and Colliers International, within the Graduate Rotational Program and the Private Capital Investment Group, respectively. At law school, Merritt served as an executive member for the Queen’s University Faculty of Law Corporate Law Club.

  • STN Video Inc., the North American industry leader in digital sports content distribution, in its sale to global sports media company Minute Media, parent company to The Players Tribune, 90min and Fansided.
  • Canaccord Genuity Corp. and other agents in a brokered private placement of subscription receipts of IsoEnergy Ltd. for gross proceeds of $36.6 million, in connection with IsoEnergy Ltd.'s merger with Consolidated Uranium Inc.
  • PI Financial Corp. and other agents in a bought deal prospectus offering of common shares of Vizsla Silver Corp. for gross proceeds of $34.5 million.
  • FireFox Gold Corp. in its issuance of private placement units for gross proceeds of $1.6 million.
