Heather works closely with lawyers in the Commercial Litigation and Estates Disputes practice groups and provides support to the Supreme Court of Canada Agency Group.

She assists on all stages of litigation including document collection, discovery, mediation, and trial. She manages large document files and deals with various courts including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Federal Courts, the Supreme Court of Canada and administrative tribunals.

Her responsibilities include:

  • Drafting pleadings and briefs;
  • Preparing files for examinations for discovery, including preparation of chronologies and affidavits of documents;
  • Drafting lists of undertakings, advisements and refusals, liaising with discovery witnesses to answer undertakings, and reviewing and organizing answers;
  • Preparing various applications, motions, supporting affidavits, and cost outlines for hearings; and
  • Obtaining and enforcing judgments, including preparing and filing writs of seizure and sale, garnishment, examination in aid of execution, seizure of assets, and sale of personal property.

Heather is a licensed paralegal with experience in the workers’ compensation system, Small Claims Court, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.
