Toronto (October 7, 2019) — Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) adds depth to its leading Banking and Financial Services Group with the arrival of a new partner, Colin Yeo, in its Calgary office. Colin specializes in domestic and cross-border secured lending and project finance transactions.
“Colin has significant experience in syndicated and non-syndicated multi-currency financing as well as project financing,” said Stephen Redican, national group head of Specialized Business Law. “He has a sharp understanding of many key industries, such as oil and gas, renewable energy, oilfield services, clean technology and Aboriginal lending, which will be beneficial to our clients.”
Colin obtained his law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA in Sociology/Psychology from the University of Alberta before being called to the Bar in 2003.
Prior to joining BLG, Colin was a partner and the department head of the Banking and Financial Services group at another international law firm. Colin also served as in-house legal counsel at TD Bank providing legal support to the TD commercial banking, commercial national accounts and agricultural lending groups for the Prairie Provinces.
Also joining BLG’s Financial Services Group with Colin are Neil Harris and Sameena Sarangi. Neil advises clients on matters of procurement, acquisition, disposition, structuring, development and financing of infrastructure projects, most notably in the financing of renewable electricity projects in Ontario. Sameena focuses on financial services, representing both lenders and borrowers in various mid-market and syndicated lending transactions, including real estate, project finance and energy sector financings.
