National (May 9, 2025) - Borden Ladner Gervais LLP’s Disputes Group has been recognized once again by Benchmark Litigation Canada, winning two Firm of the Year awards, two Litigator of the Year awards and two Impact Case awards at the gala held in Toronto last night.
Benchmark ranks BLG “highly recommended” in all the regions where the firm has offices across Canada. Eighty BLG partners were recognized as “Stars” in the 2025 guide: 66 as Litigation Stars and 14 as Future Stars.
Robert J. C. Deane was awarded the prestigious Arbitration Litigator of the Year award for a remarkable eighth time. Securities Litigator of the Year was awarded to David DiPaolo for his significant contributions to the industry and the law.
BLG was named Labour & Employment Firm of the Year, thanks to the efforts of its collaborative, multidisciplinary, cross-Canada employment disputes team. BLG’s 30-plus member healthcare disputes team, which has successfully defended many of the most significant health care trials, class actions and appeals in Canada, won Health Law/Medical Firm of the Year.
The firm won two national Impact Case awards, one for the landmark victory in the precedent-setting short-selling prosecution against Cormark Securities Inc. and the second for the enforcement win against a sovereign in CCDM Holdings c. Airport Authority of India.
