Josiane’s great listening skills and compassionate approach help her find practical and strategic solutions to her clients’ legal issues.

She has a diversified practice in civil and commercial litigation, specializing in the fields of insurance law, product liability and civil responsibility. She works primarily with insurance companies and their insureds, both in defence and in subrogatory actions in civil, professional and commercial liability actions. She also represents several manufacturers of various products sold locally, nationally and internationally, in product liability and insurance matters.

Josiane represents businesses in a variety of liability suits, notably in the medical field; she closely follows the rapid evolution of medical devices and technologies, especially as they relate to artificial intelligence and its growing importance in society.


She is recognized for her ability to make complicated technical problems easier to understand, as well as for her skill in critically assessing the quantum of damages and finding pragmatic and innovative approaches to dispute resolution.

Josiane has participated in several lengthy and complex trials on important legal issues. The experience she has gained in those major cases has enabled her to sharpen her skills as a litigator. She regularly represents clients before all judicial bodies in Québec.

Josiane likes to mentor the next generation of lawyers and makes sure to give them the time and attention they need. While she is dedicated to her clients and colleagues, she still cultivates a rich and balanced family life outside of work.

Experience

  • Represents businesses in a variety of liability matters, notably in the medical field.
  • Represents developers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers of materials and insurers in construction-related disputes and losses.
  • Has particular expertise in personal injury matters.  
  • Successfully represented Stewart Title Guaranty Company in a claim under the Bills of Exchange Act and the CPA Clearing Rules for forged endorsement in connection with a property sale and mortgage fraud via identity theft.
  • Participates in preparing cases for trial and pleads before various judicial bodies in Québec.
  • Counsels clients in private mediations.
  • Assists both insurers and businesses in interpreting insurance policies and the litigation that may result therefrom.
  • Has participated in an international investigation.
