Walter has a breadth of experience in handling mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and partnerships. Walter is a trusted advisor to many of the firm's clients and is often relied on to provide governance advice to boards of directors and senior management.

  • Guardian Capital Group Limited on its C$750 million sale of the Worldsource businesses to Desjardins Group.
  • Giampaolo Group on Rio Tinto's C$700 million joint venture with Giampaolo Group with respect to the Matalco businesses.
  • Loblaws Companies Limited on its acquisition of Lifemark Health Group, a leading provider of outpatient physiotherapy and other rehabilitation services nationwide, for C$845 million.
  • Focus Financial Partners on its cross-border acquisitions of and partnerships with various independent investment advisory firms across Canada.
  • Marcel Colomb First Nation on its historical deal with Alamos Gold Inc. with respect to a gold mining project that consists of five near-surface deposits that are in the traditional territory of Marcel Colomb, together with various other joint venture, limited partnership and commercial agreements relating to the project.
  • A number of significant veterinary practice consolidators in various acquisitions across Canada aggregating more than C$100 million.
