Eugénie’s practice mainly focuses on banking law, bankruptcy and insolvency, as well as financial restructuring.

Eugénie has expertise in fraud and litigation with respect to bills of exchange and misappropriation of funds. She has also been involved in various cases involving personal data protection and privacy in the banking sector.

Eugénie previously held a role as senior associate at BLG before joining the legal department of a major Canadian bank as legal counsel.

Experience

  • Advises financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors, receivers, trustees, and monitors in the context of the realization of security interests, insolvency matters and recovery of assets.
  • Represents insolvent debtor companies under the protection of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act or the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.
  • Represents financial institutions before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal in matters regarding the protection of personal information and privacy issues.
  • Represents various clients before all courts in Québec.
