Kevin advises clients on a wide range of liability, insurance, administrative and commercial matters.

Throughout his career, Kevin has appeared before all levels of court as lead trial and appellate counsel. This also extends to judicial reviews, administrative tribunals, mediations and arbitrations.

He has significant experience defending municipalities, police and related entities against liability claims, and defending insurers and insureds in property and casualty insurance claims.

Kevin has represented municipal, police and other clients in a number of administrative law matters including cases before the Human Rights Tribunal and at Coroner’s Inquests.  He has also defended municipal and police agencies against rights class actions.

Kevin is a member of BLG’s Partnership Board, the firm's governing body. He is also the Regional Group Manager of BLG’s Toronto Insurance and Tort Liability Group.

Kevin provides legal services through a Law Corporation.


  • Stewart v. Toronto Police Services Board – successful at trial in achieving a dismissal of a claim seeking damages for false arrest, breach of Charter Rights and misfeasance in public office.
  • Labanowicz v. Town of Fort Erie – retained to seek leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada in respect of $1.9 million judgment arising out of cycling accident on recreational trail.
  • Smith v. H M Q – representing police service in appeal concerning whether Crown can be sued for negligence in connection with advice given during investigation.
