During Makena’s second year in law school, she acted as Managing Editor of the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies and participated in a Pro Bono project with Nova Scotia Legal Aid. In addition, she volunteered as an academic mentor to 1L students, and as Vice President of the Social Committee.
Makena chose to work at BLG because of the outstanding training program, and the unique and meaningful opportunity to explore a variety of practice areas.
Makena is an avid rock climber and enthusiastic tennis player. Recently, she has also began learning to golf.
