Laura is a senior associate in our Toronto office. Her practice is focused on municipal, public authority and insurance defence litigation, as well as product liability litigation. She has represented municipalities with respect to various types of liability claims, including:

  • the design and maintenance of roadways and sidewalks
  • the design and operation of storm water and sewage systems
  • occupiers' liability
  • transportation services
  • emergency services
  • general personal injury claims

She also acts for manufacturers, distributors and retailers in defence of their products. She has experience in the defence of class actions, commercial litigation, employment law and estate litigation.

Laura has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench.

Experience

  • Represented municipalities with respect to all types of liability claims, including design and maintenance of roadways/sidewalks, design and operation of storm water and sewage systems, occupiers' liability, transportation services, emergency services and general personal injury claims.
  • Advised insurers and defending insureds in property and casualty and automobile claims.
  • Advised and represented manufacturers, distributors and retailers in defence of their products.
