MaryGrace works with creditors, sureties and borrowers on lending transactions, debt financing and other secured transactions including real estate financings, deposit protection insurance facilities, subordinated debt financing, note issuances, asset-based lending and multi-jurisdictional financings.

Her practice leverages legal technology including Closing Folders and Autologyx. She is actively involved in building out these customizable programs for the BLG Beyond platform to streamline lending transactions and provide clients with technology-enabled support.

Prior to joining BLG, MaryGrace worked for Dr. Janis Sarra at the University of British Columbia, where she researched global financial systems, structured credit and securitization, cryptocurrency, climate-related financial risk, and banking and financial institution regulation.

Experience

  • Acted for a surety in connection with deposit protection insurance facilities of up to $80 million for a master-planned residential strata and commercial development.
  • Acted for a multi-national mining company in connection with its secured syndicated credit facilities of up to $200 million.
  • Acted for an administrative agent and lender in connection with syndicated credit facilities of up to $245 million to a forestry products company.
  • Acted for a Canadian Crown corporation in connection with an affordable housing funding program.
