MaryGrace has a diverse financial services practice. She supports both creditors and debtors on lending transactions, debt financing and insolvency-related matters.

Prior to joining BLG, MaryGrace spent three years working for Dr. Janis Sarra, where she researched global financial systems, structured credit and securitization, cryptocurrency, climate-related financial risk, and banking and financial institution regulation.

Her research supported a number of publications, including Predatory Lending: The Destruction of the African-American Dream (Cambridge University Press). She also worked for five years at the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, where her role in the executive department included board governance, strategic and financial planning, and funding acquisition.

Experience

  • Sandstorm Gold Ltd. in its US$30 million Vatukoula stream and royalty transaction on the producing Vatukoula Mine in Fiji.
  • Acting for Sunniva Inc. and related (Cannabis industry) companies in their ongoing restructuring proceedings under the CCAA.
  • Acting for PwC in its capacity as the Court-appointed Monitor for the restructuring under the CCAA of the Vancouver-based cannabis company, Invictus Group
