As a Summer Law Student, Alexander is assisting lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Manitoba. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a senior research associate at a startup biotech company, leading the planning and execution of studies to support new drug development. Alexander also built relationships with external clients and played a key role in transferring analytical methods to contract laboratories
At law school, Alexander advocates for clients as a caseworker for Student Legal Assistance, appearing multiple times before the Alberta Court of Justice. He also contributes to the UCalgary IP law club blog, using his industry experience to write about developments in intellectual property law.
Alexander chose BLG for its strong student program, with its focus on mentorship, professional development, and providing students the opportunity to engage in meaningful work. He is also drawn to BLG because of its deep roots in Calgary and active involvement in the community.
In his spare time, Alexander enjoys reading about history and current events, working out, skiing and planning his next vacation.
