As a Summer Law Student, Marcell is assisting lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
During Marcell’s first and second years of law school, he received the Roger S. Smith Undergraduate Research Award for his work assisting Professor Rebeca Macias Gimenez on the relationship between Indigenous rights and freedom of religion.
As a dayleader at Student Legal Services, Marcell also appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice, Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service, and the Alberta Labour Relations Board.
Prior to attending law school, Marcell received a Bachelor of Arts in History from McGill University and participated in the Federal Student Work Experience Program through Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.
Marcell chose BLG because of the firm’s mentorship and career development opportunities. He looks forward to getting hands-on experience across a diverse set of practice areas, and learning from many of Calgary’s most experienced legal professionals.
Outside of work and school, Marcell enjoys swimming, reading, and watching the Edmonton Oilers.
