As a Summer Law Student, Matthieu is assisting lawyers on a wide variety of tasks within our Business and Disputes groups.
During Matthieu’s first year of law school, he participated in the Hicks Morley Moot Competition, where he presented oral arguments and gained valuable experience advocating for labour and constitutional issues.
Prior to attending law school, Matthieu Trudell won the Calgary Mayor’s Innovation challenge for his research and pitch about a novel battery technology. Matthieu has a keen eye for innovation, and he looks forward to applying his broad skill set.
Matthieu knew BLG was a good fit because of the firm’s positive and professional atmosphere. Matthieu is excited at the chance to learn from Calgary’s best lawyers and receive priceless mentorship. Matthieu values involvement with his peers outside of the office, and BLG facilitates many team building and social events. Everyone at BLG has a strong commitment to community involvement, and Matthieu looks forward to participating in the many opportunities to bring a positive impact to the Calgary community (BLG Reads). Matthieu appreciates BLG’s approach to pro bono work and he cannot wait to serve his community and grow as a legal advocate.
In his spare time, Matthieu enjoys golfing, playing squash, spending time outdoors, and playing board games.
